OVERVIEW

The 5-day Primate Safari not only offers an outstanding experience with the endangered Mount Gorillas but also man’s closest cousin, the Chimpanzee. Gorilla and chimp trekking are the prime activities of the captivating 5-day primate safari in Bwindi and Kibale forests.
Detailed Itinerary

Day1: Arrival and departure to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Firstly on your arrival, an Ibuth Safaris representative will not only welcome you but also take you through the 5-day primate safari. Head towards southwest Uganda towards one of the busiest road networks in Uganda, Masaka Road. Also through various open plains and rolling hills, have a stop at the imaginary line for photos and souvenirs. En route lunch with dinner and overnight Mahogany Springs, Ichumbi Gorilla Safari Lodge, and Rushaga Gorilla Camp.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and Batwa walk.
Following the itinerary, after breakfast drive to the headquarters for briefing before the 3-4hour trek. Occasionally several primates besides the gorillas will be seen ie red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys etc. Back to the lodge after the encounter for lunch and afterwards visit the Batwa trail for another life changing experience. Dinner and overnight at Mahogany Springs, Ichumbi Gorilla Safari Lodge, and Rushaga Gorilla Camp.

Day3: Departure to Kibale national park

Another astounding morning in the wilderness, wake up for breakfast and prepare to check out of both the lodge and the park. Undoubtedly, enjoy the endless following plain lands, open green savannah vegetation, rolling and claiming hills also the valleys. Finally, dinner and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge or Mountains of the Moon.

Day 4: Chimp trekking and Bigodi nature walk
Fourthly, following the program, rush to the head quarters for a talk before the hard but interesting walk in the hoods. The park is home to over 1450 chimpanzees and 12 other primate species so evidently, the trek is rewarding. Afterwards enjoy lunch at the lodge and head straight to Bigodi wetlands sanctuary home to 8 primate species e.g red colobuses, grey-cheeked Mangabeys etc. Eventually, dinner and overnight at Kyaninga Lodge or Mountains of the Moon.

Day 5: Departure back to Kampala.
Lastly up for breakfast as you prepare to say bye to the primate world, en-route meal back to Kampala or the airport depending on your flight details where the trip will be expected to end.
