A guide driver from our team will meet and greet you following an early-morning breakfast at your hotel. After the briefing, head over to the Ziwa Rhino & Wildlife ranch shortly.
When you get there, you’ll go rhino tracking to see one of the five African Big Five walks. Established in 2005 to reintroduce Southern White Rhinos to the wild, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is the only location in Uganda where visitors can go on a walking safari and witness these threatened animals in natural surroundings. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at the café within the sanctuary, where there’s a chance that rhinos will sneak back to find you, as well as other species like warthogs and antelopes, usually grazing nearby. Later in the afternoon, undertake the transfer to Masindi for an overnight stay.
After an early breakfast, you’ll be shuttled to Budongo Forest to participate in chimpanzee trekking. A professional and knowledgeable ranger guide will lead you on your chimpanzee trekking experience.
Along with seeing different tree species like mahogany, you may also encounter snakes, birds, vervet and olive monkeys, and other monkeys while trekking. Then, continue to Murchison Falls to obtain a better view of Victoria Nile straining herself into a tiny crack before spilling her waters into a 43-meter-deep abyss. After that, head for Paraa and, if time allows, you will go on a game drive before arriving at the lodge. Spend the night at the Lodge enjoying the sounds of the wild.
Get up early and have a hearty breakfast before venturing on a thrilling game drive in the peninsula lying between Victoria and Albert Nile. Take time to witness the greatest concentration of wildlife in the Murchison Falls wilderness.
Take a breathtaking boat ride to the foot of the beautiful Murchison Falls after lunch. On the cruise, you will view crocodiles and a handful of bird species. With their enormous mouths hanging open threateningly, crocodiles enjoy the sun’s rays as the earth quakes under one of the strongest natural waterfalls on earth. After there, retreat to the lodge to unwind, have dinner, and rest for the night.
You’ll go out to Kidepo Valley National Park after an early-morning breakfast. If time permits, your first activity in Kidepo Valley National Park will be an evening game drive. It is one of Uganda’s top locations for wildlife viewing. Home to a variety of species not found anywhere else in the nation especially African Wild dogs, cheetahs, and ostriches. There are many things for tourists to enjoy in this unspoiled national park. Spend the night at a cozy lodge as you await the exciting adventure the following day.
You will depart for a two to three-hour morning game drive to Kidepo Valley following an early breakfast. Compared to other parks, it’s one of the places in Uganda where you may observe the majority of cats, including lions, cheetahs, and leopards.
Although it is provisional, the guide’s attention will be on cats, with consideration given to other prominent games. Head back to the hotel for lunch and rest while you wait for the afternoon activities. You will take a quick cultural trail visit to the Karamojong in the afternoon and then go on an evening game drive to view an abundance of wildlife. Head back to the lodge at twilight for a nighttime stay.
This will be an additional full day of game viewing in the Kidepo Valley and at the hot springs near the Ugandan border with South Sudan. You will have lunch in the bush as you feel the breeze in the open savannahs.
The day’s highlights include the park’s other animals, hot springs, and ostrich birds. After the day, return to the lodge. Spend the night at a high-end lodge or somewhere equivalent.
Following breakfast, a transfer to Gulu City will take effect. The journey will take you through the Karamajong Homesteads where a local community guide will accompany you to give you a traditional feel of the place and its inhabitants.
One of the richest cultural legacies you should encounter while in Uganda is the Karamojong culture. The pastoral lifestyles of the Karamojong people bear similarities to that of the Masai people of Tanzania and Kenya. They have a variety of traditional tools, for instance, knives, arrows, stools, spears, jewelry, and beads. Stay at a comfortable lodge for the night. Additionally, for those who enjoy shaking, there will be an optional nightlife experience!
Following a leisurely breakfast in the morning, you will head south to return to Kampala, concluding your 8-day tour of the Kidepo Valley National Park and Murchison Falls National Park. The tour will drop you off at the accommodation you booked in Kampala, Entebbe, or at the airport for your return flight.
