5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari

Trip highlights: 5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari itinerary will take place in Rwanda; arriving and departing via Kigali International Airport. You will visit the Misty Volcanoes National Park home to the Great Apes and take part in the experience of a lifetime trekking the Mighty Mountain Gorillas twice visiting different habituated groups. You will also trek the Golden Monkeys.

Rwanda Gorilla Safari Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival

After you arrive Kigali International Airport, clear with immigration and proceed to the arrivals where you will meet your driver guide who will transfer you to your hotel for overnight stay.

Accommodation: Kigali Marriott Hotel (high-end), Onomo Hotel Kigali (medium) or Five to Five Hotel (budget). Meal Plan: B

Day 2: Kigali – Musanze (Volcanoes National Park)

Breakfast at your hotel, along with your driver guide you will start your drive to Musanze. Lunch and dinner at the Lodge.

Accommodation: Bisate Lodge (high-end), Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel (medium) or Le Bambou Gorilla Lodge (budget). Meal Plan: B, L, D

Day 3: First Gorilla Trekking

A very early breakfast at the Resort, with your driver guide proceed to the park headquarters for Gorilla trekking briefing and thereafter proceed to the starting point; trail heads for your amazing adventure. You will be trekking the Mighty Great Apes, the Mountain Gorillas in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. This activity could take between 2-6 hours. Rwanda has 12 habituated groups of Mountain Gorillas all over the Park. You will spend an hour with the Apes, watching the habituated group going about their normal day playing and eating among others.

You will then drive back to your Resort where you will have lunch and spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying their facilities.

Day 4: Golden Monkey Trekking

After a very early breakfast at the Lodge, drive to the park headquarters for briefing and thereafter drive to the trail heads for another highlight of the Volcanoes National Park, trekking the Golden Monkeys which usually takes 4 hrs. When you encounter the habituated Primates and spend an hour with them as they go about their normal day. The monkeys are playful and inquisitive by nature hence spend their day leaping from bamboo branches. After the trek, you will return to the Lodge to have lunch and spend the rest of the day enjoying the lodge facilities.

Day 5: Second Gorilla Trekking – Departure

On this day too after an early breakfast at the Lodge, you will be assisted with checking out. With your driver guide drive to the park headquarters for Gorilla trekking briefing once again and thereafter proceed to the starting point; for your second encounter with the Mighty Great Apes, the Mountain Gorillas in Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda though you will be trekking a different habituated group from the one you trekked the previous day. Spend an hour with the Apes, watching them go about their normal day playing, eating… etc

You will then be transferred back to your lodge to freshen up, have lunch. You then will start your drive to Kigali International Airport to catch your departure International flight. Meal Plan: B & L
