Adere Safari Lodge, one of the recent additions to Kidepo valley National Park is the pinnacle of opulence in Uganda’s third largest National Park set on the north-eastern side of the country. This luxurious Lodge takes pride in its traditional architectural designs by local craftsmen which are commensurate with the culture of Karamojong with a special touch of modernity to provide guests with unforgettable experiences.
Adere Safari Lodge opened in 2019 and over the past three years, it has hosted several high-end visitors yearning for an authentic experience of Africa’s wilderness. The name “Adere” is literally translated as “calabash” in the local Ateso dialect and it described a local gourd made from the hard shell of gourd fruits. It is normally dried before being used for drinking water, local beer, or storing/serving food. This beautiful Safari Lodge is only 5 minutes’ drive from the Kidepo Park entry gate hence making it accessible for travelers interested in exploring this remote National Park through game drives, bush walks, bird watching tours and so much more. While it sits outside the park, it is surprisingly hidden and surrounded by the wilderness hence providing a thrilling wilderness experience.
There are 20 en-suite rooms in twin or double configurations at Adere Safari Lodge and each of them features a wooden floor, hand-hewn beds with a mosquito net, a private bathroom, a work desk and chair, a private balcony with hand-made chairs where guests relax while enjoying views of the unspoiled wilderness.
While Adere Safari Lodge, leisure goes hand in hand with work, and for this reason, there is a conference hall and boardroom hence you can have meetings, presentations, and workshops while uncovering the beauty of Uganda’s underrated Kidepo valley National Park.
This Lodge is also home to one of the best and most unmissable restaurants in Kidepo valley National Park where mouth-watering meals are served every day from breakfast, and lunch to dinner.
What is the better way to end an evening after a long day of exploring the wilderness? I guess a bottle of cold beer or a glass of wine while sharing stories with travel mates and this is made possible by the full-stocked Adere Safari Lodge Bar.
If you have plans of staying at Adere Safari Lodge in the dry season-June to September and December to February, you will be treated to the most riveting wildlife sights during game drives or bush walks. During these months, most watering sources in Kidepo valley National Park have dried up leaving out a few where most animals converge for clean water and fresh pastures. The Safari Lodge is also a central hub for tours to the surrounding Karamojong local communities where guests can visit to learn about their interesting culture-food, homesteads, traditional dances, clothing, and many others.
