Bisate Lodge: Breathtaking views, out-of-this-World designs and heavenly comfort define the lodge. Even at the comfort of your traditionally designed and stupendous Villa its possible to see the Virunga ranges. The Villas here were designed with inspiration from Rwandan Royalty traditions. They are decorated with the famous Imigongo cow dung art.
Bisate Lodge is strategically perched along the edges of Volcanoes National Park in the Northern Province of Rwanda. This luxurious Lodge opened its doors in 2017. Since then, it has received over 34 awards and still continues to get recognized for its unique experiences. The most recent awards won by Bisate Lodge are for the “best Safari Lodge in Africa for 2022”. It also featured as one of the “top 10 safari outfitter” organized by Travel + Leisure World’s Best Awards.
There are presently 6 conically shaped and thatched en-suite forest Villas at Bisate Lodge. The beauty about all of them is that they embody the country’s rich and unmatched culture.

Each of these villas is approximately 91 square meters, surrounded by a verdant forests. They have spacious verandas hence perfect for unwinding while taking in views of the lush vegetation and slopes of Bisoke and Karisimbi Volcanoes. The bedroom is large but intimate. It also has an en-suite bathroom, reception space and central fireplace for providing warmth as you relax after a wonderful gorilla trekking adventure.
The interiors are indescribable with remarkable art designs, warmth and comfort like no other. This Lodge is a wonderful blend of tradition and modernity, and Villas have floor-to-ceiling windows that allow you to marvel at Mother Nature while sipping on your favorite drink. Farm-to-table dining experiences are provided thus emphasizing good health and nutrition with most dishes prepared with freshly acquired ingredients/foods that include wild honey, climbing beans, avocado, Papaya, mangoes, Macadamia nuts, plantain, kale, Chilli, passion fruit and pineapple among others.
The Lodge also has a wine cellar offering spectacular views and perfect spot for enjoying an intimate dinner as well as some of the finest wines you’ve ever tasted.
A stone throw from the luxurious Bisate Lodge are the extinct Volcanoes Karisimbi and Bisoke, known for being the former base/research station for Primatologist Dian Fossey as she conducted studies on the endangered mountain gorillas. Given the strategic location, travelers can easily connect to Volcanoes National Park to enjoy mountain gorilla trekking (the highlight of most Rwanda safaris and definitely star attraction in the Park, scale the extinct Bisate and Karisimbi Volcanoes, discover the different forest trails where plethora of birds and wildlife species can be spotted, track the golden monkeys and even hike to the Dian Fossey final resting place.
