Akagera Game Lodge is one of the oldest and finest accommodation facilities within Akagera National Park, and one of the few places that will offer a rue African wilderness Experience. Visitors of Akagera Game Lodge are introduced to the wide array of game that include elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, leopards, Topis as well as lots of birds that include the shoebill storks, grey-crowned cranes, Papyrus gonolek, Red-faced barbet, cattle egrets, pelicans and so much more. Be prepared to get introduced to the various natural habitats that include wetlands (Akagera National Park is surprisingly the largest protected wetland in East and Central Africa), savannah grasslands, woodlands, rolling hills, Lakes and Rivers.
Akagera Game Lodge sits on a hill within the southern side of Akagera National Park hence providing visitors with incredible views of the natural landscape- savannah plains as well as the stunning Lake Ihema and smaller Lake Shikani.
Akagera Game Lodge features over 60 air-conditioned rooms in different categories with double or twin bed configuration and each of them features an en-suite bathroom. The beauty about these rooms is that they are designed in modern Rwandese style hence making them perfect for leisure and business guests.
Each of the 27 standard rooms at Akagera Game Lodge is decorated in modern African décor, with double or twin bed configuration and has en-suite bathroom. Additionally, laundry services, complimentary Wi-Fi, flat screen TV with satellite channels, local and International adaptors, air-conditioning, hair dryer, in-room safe, tea/coffee making facilities and mini-fridge are available in these rooms.
Of the 60 rooms at Akagera Game Lodge, 29 are categorized as Balcony rooms with twin and double bed configuration as well as en-suite bathrooms. They have all the other amenities in all Akagera Game Lodge rooms.
The only Balcony suite at Akagera Game Lodge is also designed in modern African décor with en-suite bathroom, lounge area for unwinding after a long day’s activities such as nature walks, game drives and boat rides while admiring the beauty of Mother Nature. It also has an in-room safe, hair dryer, air-conditioning, and tea/coffee making facilities.
The only presidential suite at Akagera Game Lodge features two en-suite bedrooms that can accommodate up to 4 visitors. The master bedroom has its own exclusive patio that overlook the Valleys and rolling hills. It is also furnished with a private fully-fitted kitchen, incredibly designed dining area for over 10 visitors, a private lounge area and other amenities found in other rooms.
